Katie & Sayre’s Berkeley Redwoods Wedding
There’s something effortlessly enchanting about a stand of soaring redwood trees, whether it’s because of their age, their size, their silent majesty, or the dusty beams of sunlight that occasionally cut through the shadows. Unsurprisingly, Katie and Sayre’s June wedding in UC Berkeley Botanical Garden’s Mather Redwood Grove was a beautiful one, sprinkled with whimsical and magical moments.
One such moment occurred while Katie, her bridal party, and her parents were waiting for the ceremony to start. As they chatted, eagerly anticipating the events of the day, a bluebird landed in one of the tree branches above them. They all stared and pointed at it in teary-eyed awe—Katie’s grandmother, who wasn’t able to attend the wedding, had given Katie a bluebird pin for her “something blue.” The bird hung out for a minute or two before taking off.
